Just Got Promoted? How Not to Blow It

Among recently promoted employees surveyed during the recession, a third of respondents said they wished they had never been promoted. A sink-or-swim attitude is prevalent and responsible for such stress. As such, during your first hundred days, look for some quick, early wins without uprooting everything that has come before you. Meet with everyone around you to get an idea of how you can improve operations together, and also regularly check in with upper management to see if you are steering the business where they want it to go. The best way to know if you are doing things right is to just ask.
